Who is responsible for regulating air
quality-based in your Santa Clara County?
The Air
District is the regional government agency accountable for air quality in the
nine Bay Area counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San
Mateo, Santa Clara, southwestern Solano, and southern Sonoma. Created by state
law in 1955, they “measure and analyze
air quality, develop air quality rules, ensure that businesses comply with air
pollution laws and regulations, give grants to encourage clean air, work with
communities to improve air quality, and administer the Spare the Air and Winter
Spare the Air programs”. Their mission stated at their website is to
protect and improve public health, air quality, and the global climate.
I like your video presentation. After viewing the report, I am so disturbed how bad CA is doing. I feel motivated to educate myself more and be involved in tackling the pollution going on in our state.
