The NURD’s view: “Having Faith” By Dr. Steingraber

The book resonates what the Population Health nursing needs to care for, one pregnancy at a time. Dr. Steingraber sensibly wrote about the environmental fear-factors of each fetal development. When she wrote about the interest (or disinterest) of tracking birth defect and the correlation of environment and genes; I was not able to put the book down. As a new aunt myself for the nth time, I was also reflecting on my sister-in-law’s pregnancy. Between her and my pregnant adult niece, I forgot who I talked to about taking DES? I searched for my email and instant messages. I cannot find the conversation piece anymore. Then it dawned on me, is my momentous blip, an example of a “poorly organized reporting system”?   Like an overwhelming emotion overpowers the need to think of others. Sort of.

Overall, the book must be a must-read for all expectant mother, pregnant now or planning to get pregnant in 10 years!
